Danell Jones is a teacher, writer, scholar, and editor with close to twenty years of experience in education. She currently teaches creative writing and literature courses in Billings, Montana.
Professional Experience: Danell has taught at a small private high school in Berkeley, California, as well as at a variety of colleges in New York, Rhode Island, Montana, and Colorado. She won a number of awards for her writing and her scholarship including a Whiting Fellowship in the Humanities, the Bennett Cerf Writing Award (Columbia University), and the Jovanovich Imaginative Writing Award (University of Colorado, Boulder). She was also a finalist for the PEN/Nelson Algren Award.
Education: Danell earned her doctorate in English and comparative literature from Columbia University in 1993. Her dissertation explored the ways World War I influenced Virginia Woolf's life and work.
Personal: Danell is a newly wedded, cat-fancying, thrift store junky. |
