Paul Fitzgerald

Paul Fitzgerald is a teacher of AP Modern European History at Miramonte High School in Orinda, California, and a College Board® consultant.

Professional experience: Paul has taught AP European and/or AP United States History for twenty-five years. He has given numerous workshops on teaching AP European history over the past fifteen years in the Midwest and on the West Coast. The College Board published his AP course syllabus; it has been one of the most widely used models in the nation.

Education: Paul graduated with a bachelor's in social science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1970 and a master's in history education from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1980. He has also completed coursework in Paris, France and at Harvard University.

Personal: Paul is a new teacher mentor and a technology coach for his school district. He has taught in Colorado, Illinois, and California and has started AP history programs in each location. He exercises regularly and is a passionate basketball fan.
