Home > Dave Ekrem Dave Ekrem by Dave , Ekrem New York, New York Dave Ekrem is an editorial professional with over ten years' experience in new media and offline publishing. Professional experience: Dave started his career as an assistant managing editor at William Morrow & Company. In 1994, after some years toiling in the salt mines of the book publishing industry, he moved to The Voyager Company and the brave new frontier of "interactive multimedia." As Voyager's editorial coordinator, he was fortunate to work on a broad range of titles including Dracula: Truth and Terror and Children's Songbook: Songs from Around the World. Most recently, Dave worked at About.com (formerly The Mining Company), supporting over 150 independent contractors from across North America as they created Web sites about their cities. Education: Dave holds a bachelor's degree in English literature and composition from the University of Washington and has completed courses in copy and production editing at the New School and manuscript editing at New York University. Personal: After college, Dave spent a year in Spain teaching English as a second language. His hobbies are birding and commuter bicycling, and he lives in a small apartment in Irvington, New York, with his wife, Kate, and son, Peter.
