Margaret A. Brucia

Margaret A. Brucia is a veteran AP Latin teacher and former chair of the AP Latin Test Development Committee.

Professional Experience: Margaret has taught in both private and public schools since 1970. An active promoter of AP Latin, she has directed many AP teacher workshops in the United States and in Rome. Margaret is the co-designer (with Kathleen Rabiteau) of the collegeboard.com Latin Multiple-Choice Tutorial. She is also the author (with Madeleine Henry) of Horace Satire 1.9: The Boor, a teaching text. Margaret currently teaches Latin at Earl L. Vandermeulen High School in Port Jefferson, New York.

Education: Margaret has earned M. A. and Ph.D. degrees in classics from Fordham University and a masters in English literature from Long Island University.

Personal: As a recipient of the Rome Prize (Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship), Margaret spent the 1991-92 academic year at the American Academy in Rome. She continues to pursue her research on Tiber Island and the cult of Aesculapius and maintains an ongoing interest in Hannibal.
