David Carmody is an associate director of regional consultant recruitment and endorsement at the College Board.
Professional experience: David taught high school mathematics, including AP Calculus and AP Statistics, for nine years in the Chicago area before moving to Washington, D.C., to pursue additional education. In the D.C. area, David taught both high school and college mathematics classes, wrote math content and trained teachers for eSylvan, and most recently was the secondary mathematics specialist for the District of Columbia Public Schools. He has been with the College Board since 2003.
Education: David earned a bachelor's degree in mathematical methods in the social sciences and secondary education from Northwestern University. He earned an M.A. in mathematics education from DePaul University and has taken a smattering of doctoral courses.
Personal: David lives in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C., with the world's toughest dog, Cuddles. He sings with both the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington and its a capella group, Potomac Fever. While he generally doesn't run unless being chased, he trained for and completed the Marine Corps Marathon in 2003 and 2004. |
