|  | 2007-08 Calendar of AP Testing Activities
This past May, over 16,000 high schools administered more than 2.5 million AP Exams. These exams are the culmination of rigorous preparation by both teachers and students. There are many activities that occur in preparation for the exam administration.
The Calendar
All Year
Schools receive subject-specific mailings if significant changes in policies, exam format, or course content occur.
AP Coordinators receive monthly emails detailing ways to prepare for the exam administration.
August
September
- Principals are sent the AP Instructional Planning Reports for each AP teacher, which include class-specific data on how students performed on the various topics within the AP Exams.
- AP Scholar Awards and AP International Diploma notifications are sent to students and schools.
AP International Diploma
- Schools receive annual participation materials.
- September 15: Deadline for ordering free-response booklets from the 2007 AP Exam administration.
October
- Schools complete their participation materials and designate their AP Coordinators.
- Free-response booklets for the 2007 AP Exam administration are sent to students and schools that have requested them.
- Studio Art posters are mailed to schools to the attention of the AP Studio Art teacher.
- Districts receive school AP Scholar rosters, if ordered.
- Rebate checks are mailed to AP Coordinators with large AP programs.
- October 31: Deadline for students to request Multiple-Choice Rescore Service for the 2007 AP Exam administration.
November
- AP Course Audit online ledger of schools’ authorized 2007-08 AP courses is available this month.
AP Course Audit
- 2007 State and National Summary Reports are posted online.
- November 15: Postmark deadline for schools to return the Participation Forms and Participation Survey.
December
- The AP Program begins to mail the AP Coordinator's Manual, the Fee Reduction qualification guidelines, the Late-Testing Policy, a supply of the Bulletin for AP Students and Parents (available in English and, by request, in Spanish), and other information to schools that have submitted their Participation Forms.
- Principals receive the PSAT/NMSQT® Roster of Student Scores and Plans, which includes schools’ AP Potential™ access codes.
- AP Potential is available this month. Schools should check their PSAT/NMSQT Roster of Student Scores and Plans to retrieve their access code.

January
- AP Coordinators receive an email containing exam-ordering information and can begin ordering exams online.
February
- AP Report to the Nation released.
- Upcoming AP Summer Institutes for professional development are announced.
- A roster of students approved to receive testing accommodations--such as Braille, 14- or 20-point large-type exams, and large-block answer sheets--is sent to schools for use in ordering these exam materials.
- February 22: Deadline for submitting complete disability documentation for students whose Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) Student Eligibility Forms require Documentation Review.
March
- Schools may begin submitting AP Course Audit materials for 2008-09 course authorizations for new teachers and courses.
- March 7: Deadline for submitting complete Student Eligibility Forms for students with disabilites using the School Verification process.
- Orders are placed for preadministration materials.
- Orders placed by March 11 will be delivered by April 4.
- Orders placed between March 12 and April 2 will be delivered by April 14.
April
- AP Coordinators receive and check exam materials.
- SSD Coordinators receive updated rosters and Nonstandard Administration Report forms for students testing with accommodations.

2008 Exam Ordering Deadlines and Information
- April 2: Deadline for ordering preadministration materials (United States and Canada only): Can be placed only with the initial exam order .
- Orders placed by March 12 will be delivered by April 4.
- Orders placed by April 2 will be delivered by April 14.
- April 25: Schools outside the United States and Canada receive shipments of regular exams no later than this date if exam orders were placed on or before April 11.
- April 28: Schools in the United States, U.S. territories, and Canada receive shipments of regular exams no later than this date if exam orders were placed on or before April 18.
May
- AP Exams will be administered on May 5 to 9 and 12 to 16, 2008. Alternate exams will be administered on May 21 to 23. See the AP Exams Calendar for a detailed exam schedule.
AP Exams Calendar
- May 17: Deadline for colleges to order Electronic Score Reporting service to receive grades via the Web for initial July 2008 score reporting. Requests received after May 17 will be accommodated with follow-up grade reporting.
June
- The free-response sections, audio student responses, and Studio Art portfolios are scored at the annual AP Reading.
- June 1: Teachers of new AP courses should begin to participate in the 2008-09 AP Course Audit by this date. Submitting both an AP Course Audit form and a syllabus by June 1 will guarantee sufficient time to have the course authorized for the first release of the ledger in November. Colleges and universities will be informed of subsequently authorized courses via frequent updates to the ledger.
- June 1: Deadline for AP Services to receive all exam materials. Schools are billed twice the fee for each exam in shipments received after this date.
- June 15: Postmark deadline for exam payments and invoices submitted to AP Services. Late payments incur a $200 fee.
- June 15: Deadline for AP Services to receive student letters to change college grade report recipients and withhold grades for the current year's administration. Students may cancel grades at any time, but June 15 is the deadline for canceling grades before release of 2008 AP Grade Reports.
- June 15: Deadline for districts to order grade reporting services.
- June 15: Deadline for colleges and universities to change the grade reporting services ordered the previous year.
July
- AP Grade Reports are sent to designated colleges, students, and their high schools.
- July 1: Grades by Phone available for the current year's administration.
- July 16 to 20: 2008 AP Annual Conference, Seattle, Washington.
- Mid-July through Late-August: AP Grade Reports for alternate exams are sent.
