Using the CIA World Factbook: An Internet, Word Processing, and Web Page Design Project

Introduction

This project is designed to help students to explore an Internet resource site that is kept extremely current—the CIA's World Factbook—and collect data for presentation in print and Web document formats.

Students must have basic familiarity with a word processor, and the teacher should give them a walk-through introduction to the Internet resource site. Students should be able to perform basic copy and paste functions to transfer images and data from the resource site to their own documents. The enrichment extension is intended to serve as an introduction to Web page design.
