Barry Bienstock is Chair of the History Department at the Horace Mann School in New York City, where he has taught AP United States, African-American, and Latin American history and related subjects since 1982.
Professional experience: Barry received his undergraduate degree at Long Island University and graduate degrees from Brown University and Columbia University, all in history. His major field of interest is Native American history. He has published in Common-place and the Journal of Social History. In January 2002, he received the American Historical Association's Nancy Lyman Roelker Mentorship Award.
Personal: Barry lives in Maplewood, New Jersey, with his wife, Jan Lewis, and his dog Becket. |
