The AP Physics Exam was first offered as a single exam in 1956. It stayed that way until it was separated into two exams -- AP Physics B and Physics C -- in 1969. The AP Physics C: Mechanics Exam covers approximately the first half of a one-year course in introductory physics with calculus, intended for students planning to major in engineering or a physical science.
Below are free-response questions from past AP Physics C: Mechanics Exams. Included with the questions are scoring guidelines, sample student responses, and commentary on those responses, as well as exam statistics and the Chief Reader's Report for past administrations.
