The artist exhibits consistent high quality in images derived from a personal experience, in this case a trip to Sweden. There is a confident use of the elements and principles of design. The mastery of drawing technique is excellent in the execution of an evocative theme.

Student Commentary
What was your initial idea?
The subject of my concentration is landscapes from summers in Sweden.

How did your idea grow and develop as you worked? You may refer to specific slides as examples.
I chose to do landscapes from Sweden because I go there with my family almost every summer and stay at a summer camp. We go on canoe hikes, staying overnight on islands, and I used the photos I took there as the basis for my paintings, since these memories are very important to me and I wanted to capture the atmosphere of the different settings. Throughout the completion of my concentration, I worked on capturing variations in color, forms, time of day, perspective, and learning techniques. Overall, I learned the importance of depth and color in landscape.
