Rationale
The artist's use of urban settings as a concentration is achieved through a series of original and technically excellent images. The work goes beyond technical considerations to engage the viewer with the theme. The purposeful integration of typography and color provides a sophisticated approach to the subject.

Student Commentary
What was your initial idea?
I began with purely digital compositions, as seen in slides 1 and 2, and after I decided to do two 10-slide series. In this series, I began with a focus on architecture, and as I progressed I developed individual themes for each piece, while maintaining a style that would easily be recognized as a collection.

How did your idea grow and develop as you worked? You may refer to specific slides as examples.
Looking at the first few slides (3, 4, 5...) of the series, I see that my designs were not as detailed and look a bit rough. As I continued, I expanded to separate themes which were unique from my other pieces. Although my original idea was to focus on architecture, over the period of my AP 2-D class I worked more and more originality in each piece. My focus shifted from strictly architecture to a broader urban and industrial feeling.
