The AP French Literature Exam
|
|
| |
Note: AP French Literature was discontinued following the May 2009 exam administration. The resources on this page will remain available for French teachers until December 15, 2009.
Exam Content
Although French was among the first AP offerings in 1956, it consisted of just one course and exam that contained both a language and literature component. In 1970, AP French was split into two exams, AP French Language and AP French Literature.
The AP French Literature exam measures how well students can understand, analyze, and interpret literary texts and their ability to write competent critical essays in French. With the exception of directions, French is used exclusively in the exam materials and in student responses. Use of dictionaries or other reference works during the exam is not permitted.
