Rationale for Score:
- A significant factor in the breadth of this portfolio is the variety of materials chosen by the student to explore dimensional space.
- Interest is generated by other aspects of the investigation, but reliance on humble materials is notable and speaks to the student’s creativity as evidenced in image 5, which is made from wood and floss picks.
- The student directs the viewer to the complexity of the pieces by providing a second view that goes beyond mere informing to astutely showing multiple aspects of the arrangements that would not be evident without this second view.
- The work shows informed use of mass, volume, surface treatment, and visual contrast while activating the space in and around the sculpture, including cast shadows.
