Rationale for Score:
With both energy and elegance, these pieces demonstrate successful engagement with a range of three- dimensional design principles. The student shows confidence in working with wood, clay, metal, plaster, and stone, while exploring both biomorphic and geometric forms. The sculptures engage negative space with particular attention to enclosed and implied voids. Each piece reflects a clear sense of purpose and process of deliberate and informed decision-making. Craftsmanship, surface, and materials are handled with subtlety and sensitivity. A strong, personal voice is apparent in the assertive manner in which the student addresses formal and design issues.
