Exams: 2002 Studio Art 3-D Design: Breadth

3-D Design: Breadth -- Section III

The student samples for 3-D Design: Breadth were submitted in June 2002. Beginning with the 2002 exams, the Studio Art courses were reorganized from two courses, Studio Art: General and Studio Art: Drawing, to three courses -- Studio Art: Drawing, Studio Art: 2-D Design, and Studio Art: 3-D Design. All of the samples included here were chosen because they are an excellent range of works that fit into the new portfolio requirements.

An attempt was made to choose works that cover widely different ways of working within each portfolio; however, we fully expect that the universe of works that Studio Art students will create for 3-D portfolios will explore new directions and new media. All of the works chosen here came from Breadth sections that received very high scores. The selections were made without regard for who the students are or where they attended school.
