Briefly define the nature of your concentration project.
For my concentration I investigated both the design and sculptural qualities of the chair. I challenged myself to construct chairs that were functional as well as chairs that displayed negative space, color, texture, scale, form, and shape.

Briefly describe the development of your concentration project and the sources of your ideas. You may refer to specific slides as examples.
This fascination and attraction I have toward chairs began when I started to think about the importance of chairs within daily human life (how, why, and when they are used). My concentration developed with my studies of various artists. Albert Paley's use of metal and light helped to inspire works in slides 2* and 4. Louise Nevelson's use of wood and assemblage pieces influenced slides 1 and 6. Keith Haring and Lucas Samaras influenced slides 8 and 7.

What medium of media did you use?
Through this experience I have learned to work with many new materials, such as: wooden clothespins, copper pipes, copper sheeting, Plexiglas, plastic vials, dowels, upholstery foam, plywood, fiberboard, beanbag pellets, and rusty printing press letters, as well as a variety of fabrics (fleece, faux fur, pleather, spandex, cotton, vinyl).
* Important Note:
The numbers of the slides run from top left to bottom right.
