The work shows courageous decision making manifested in innovative compositions and sophisticated exploration of media.
The application of design principles is broad, intentional and confident. Examples of this include the use of unity and variety in image 3; figure/ground relationship in image 7; and balance, emphasis and contrast in images 4–9.
A sophisticated and informed use of scale and juxtaposition both enhances and complements the dynamic relationships between visual elements.
There is a wide range of deliberate and complex color harmonies as well as actual and implied texture.
The use of multiple viewpoints and the division of the picture plane create a rich sense of time and movement.
Each piece engages the viewer through evocative and purposeful intent.
The work is of excellent breadth and quality.
