In mid-July, students receive their AP Grade Report. It includes the grade earned for each AP Exam the student took in the current year. It also lists the grades the student received on AP Exams taken in prior years. It does not include any grades that the student may have requested to be withheld. Almost all AP grades (at least 98 percent) are released by mid-July. Others take longer to process because the information that the student entered on the exam answer sheet or other exam materials is incomplete or missing, because the student tested after the date of the regularly scheduled exam using an alternate form of the exam, or because exam materials were returned late to ETS. Usually, those grades are released by the end of July.
The student AP Grade Report also indicates the name of the college to which the student requested AP grades be sent at the time of the exam administration. Students can send to ETS the "Correction or Update Request" part of the AP Grade Report to correct any of their identifying information or to request that grade reports be sent to one or more colleges or universities.

Students who wish to know their grades before mid-July when they are mailed can call the AP Program at the beginning of July. For students in the U.S., the U.S. territories, or Canada, this service is available toll-free and operates 24 hours a day for about six weeks by touch-tone phone. Students outside the U.S. and Canada can call AP Services from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.
