Atlantic Region: State of the Environment 1994 "This report provides an overview of the environment of the Atlantic Provinces at a particular time. It also identifies problem areas and describes important conditions and trends, and outlines the direction in which the Region is headed environmentally. The central theme of this report is the relationship between human activities and environmental quality, human health and the economy. The concept of sustainability is explored, both in terms of ecosystem sustainability, and the long-term sustainability of our current use of the environment and its resources." Satellite Images of Environmental Change (EarthShots) This wonderful site from the USGS has a clickable map of the world that shows satellite images of a place over time as well as articles written about that place! You can also zoom in and out on the maps. The articles are critical to understanding what the maps are telling the reader.
