Introductory Computer Science Courses

Read more Strategies...

Although AP Computer Science is intended to be an entry-level course in computer science, many schools offer a sequence of computer science courses with AP CS being among the choices. Teachers of "Introduction to Computer Science" courses instruct their students in a variety of programming languages in courses of varying lengths. Some AP CS teachers have shared their personal experiences with such introductory courses in articles on AP Central. Their insight may be invaluable to schools and teachers planning a computer science curriculum and to computer science teachers considering an entry-level course change or addition. These articles do not attempt to explore all possibilities for an introductory course, but they certainly represent some of the most popular choices.
