Nature of Significant Political Boundaries The nature and significance of political boundary activity will serve as an introductory lesson for a unit dealing with political geography. This lesson introduces students to the extreme differences in living conditions between the United States and Mexico with respect to 15 statistical categories.
The Sun Never Sets on the British Empire This lesson is designed to teach how extensive Imperialism was. Intended for grades 10 to 12.
Who Owns Antarctica? This lesson has been designed to conclude a series of lessons on the nature of sovereignty, within a unit on political geography, but could be used anywhere the concept of territorial sovereignty has been taught.

Chiapas -- Where Is It and Why Should We Care? This lesson will take a look at a contemporary issue in the Mexican state of Chiapas. The issue to be studied is that of the rise of the Ejercito Zapatista para la Liberacion Nacional (The Zapatista National Liberation Army). It is the goal of the lesson to make students aware that Mexico is more complex than it is often presented in the pretty pictures in their textbooks.
Korea The people and land of Korea, long united, were divided by war and politics some 50 years ago. Investigate how past history, present political ideology, and the natural environment have shaped the North and South Korea of today. Select "Korean Enigma" under the heading "Comprehensive."
