AP FAQs

I am teaching AP Art History for the first time. How should I prepare?
  1. Attend a College Board AP Art History workshop. Acquire special focus and professional development booklets.
  2. Order the current AP® Art History Course Description and AP® Art History Teacher's Guide and the Released Exams from 1998 to 2004 from the College Board Store.
  3. Contact textbook publishers for free examination copies of as many recommended course textbooks and supplemental titles as possible.
  4. Adopt a textbook for your class, including the teacher's guide and student workbook. Become familiar with the textbook's companion website and resource CDs.
  5. Take a refresher art history course at a local college. Read textbooks and more advanced titles for background information. Visit the Teachers' Resources area on the AP Art History Course Home Page for reviews of course materials.
