AP FAQs

Are calculators required for the AP Biology class or the AP Biology Exam?
Though there are many topics for which calculators are useful and often necessary during the AP Biology course (most labs require calculations of percentage change or rates of reaction or statistical equations), there are no specifications about calculator use in class and calculators are NOT allowed on the AP Exam itself. Any calculations during the exam would be of the most basic type, and students should be able to perform them "in their heads" or on paper. -- Carolyn Schofield
